Weekend Recap

Well the top 25 came out today, but had LSU @ 1 and USC @ 2 with 3-5 as predicted below. It was the last day of the regular season for MLB, but the Padres will head to Colorado to have a one game playoff to be the NL wild card. The Phillies overtook the Mets which you cannot help but love UNLESS you are a Mets fan, obviously. I will definitely be rooting for the Padres on Monday. Either way, if you told me that the Phillies, the Cubs, the Diamondbacks and the Padres/Rockies were in the playoffs, you definitely would have been laughed at. While in the AL, I think that all of playoff teams were not surprising. Around the NFL, the Lions did manage to beat the Bears to go to 3-1, but the KC Chiefs went into SD and won as well as the Steelers losing in Arizona. The Browns are still shocking teams as they beat the Ravens today. As for the rest of the league, Peyton was business as usual and so was TB who continues to surprise. On to a sport that you either absolutely love or absolutely do not see the point, its NASCAR. I am a big Jeff Gordon fan, but I like a lot of drivers too (JJ, Dale JR). The only driver that i absolutely hate is Tony Stewart. There was a rain delay in the middle of todays race which was frustrating and forced me to watch some of Peyton's dominance. Tony is one of the most arrogant guys in all of sports, but after he did not pit and lead going into the delay, he came back out and got bumped and then crashed later. It was hilarious watching him in his car after being hit because he was throwing everything he could like the child he is. Gordon ended up finishing 5 with JJ in 3 so Gordon will be 6 points behind JJ in the Chase, but more importantly, only the top are within 100 points. It looks like Gordon and JJ can work together to separate themselves from the field and then fight for it later on.

PS The Americans won the President's Cup, the Germans won the Women's World Cup (USA was 3rd) AND the NHL started its season in London where the Ducks and Kings split two games.
