Finally, Not a Sweep

But first, the Red Sox finished off the sweep of the Angels 9-1. Manny and Big Papi went back to back for the first time this year and added a seven run eighth. The Angels never really seemed to wake up in this series and were hurt by injuries to some of their better hitters. The Yankees were the first team this year to avoid a sweep and beat the Indians 8-4 behind Johnny Damon's three run home run in the deciding four run fifth. Game 4 is tonight (Byrd-Wang) at 7:37. Wang lost game 1 in this series, but should look much more comfortable at Yankee Stadium and if Pettitte pitches as well as he pitched in game 2 where he got a no decision in Cleveland, the Yankees might just pull off this series. Game 5, if necessary, would be on Wednesday at 8:30 (Pettitte-Sabathia). The NLCS will start on Thursday where the Rockies will head to Arizona to take on the Diamonbacks.
