Red Sox Hold Serve, BC Wins On Last Second Play

The Rockies scored their only run in the first inning while the Red Sox were only able to score two, but that was enough to win 2-1. Schilling definitely best calling it the "Pap-ajima show". This game was definitely the story of two dominant bullpens. Matt Holliday had four hits (out of the Rockies total of 5), but was picked off of first in the eighth. The Red Sox go up 2-0 heading to Colorado for game 3 on Saturday @ 8pm (Matsuzaka-Fogg). I like the Rockies winning this game using those great fans they have in Colorado, but losing the next two games to a dominant Red Sox team.

The Wild lost to the Oilers 5-4 in a shootout (2-1). Suddenly, their scoring has really increased, but their defense is just not there. They really need to get back to the way their comfortable, winning games, 2-1 and 3-2 where they are controlling the pace.

#2 Boston College scores all of their 14 points in the last 2:11 of the game to win 14-10. #8 Virginia Tech let BC get an onside kick after the first TD and their defense just looked lost on BC's second TD drive. It was raining rather heavily most of the game, but neither of these teams looked like top ten caliber.

Friday looks to be an off-night for sports, but Saturday will be plenty full. College Gameday will be visiting Happy Valley for the OSU-PSU game for those that are interested.
